A low-growing, mat-forming evergreen perennial from Greece and the Balkans making rosettes of silver-green, hairy, toothed leaves. In late spring to early summer it produces large, flattened heads of white, daisy-like flowers with a central boss of yellow anthers. This is a lovely plant for the rock garden or a dry bank and as “tough as old boots”.
