Striking urn-shaped flowers of rich reddish-purple held in a loose umbel on 25cm stem. It is native to the USA, where it grows in the Californian Coast Ranges and the Sierra Nevada foothills. A prolific bloomer and a great new introduction to the late spring garden. One of the best recent introductions to Australian dry gardens and a personal favourite.
