Large tessellated pinkish-purple flowers with a white throat freely produced throughout autumn before its neat, upright leaves emerge. One of the largest of the hybrids, and a wonderful garden plant because it brings much wanted early autumn colour, and remains well behaved during the rest of the year by providing outstanding winter foliage, and then obligingly disappearing in mid-spring.
