Crocus biflorus subsp. melantherus
An endemic race confined to the central and north of the Peleponnese and only one of two autumn flowering species in this group. Upright cupped flowers, always white with variable purple/brown exterior markings. Along with C. biflorus ssp crewii has striking dark maroon anthers.
