A super little species with bearded Iris flowers of primrose and sulphur yellows or dusky purples, sometimes bicoloured, sitting above tufty sword-like foliage. Endemic to Italy, southern France and northeastern Spain, usually in dryish places, among rocks, grassland or light pine woodland.
