Known as the Cretan Iris these differ from the North African plants by their more dwarf habit, shorter, narrower leaves and more intense, strikingly coloured flowers of violet and lavender over a white ground with an orange-yellow stripe running down the centre of each fall. An excellent addition to the winter garden. Seed grown from collections in the southern Peloponnese.
