Centaurea bella
This Caucasian endemic is almost an exact but larger copy of C. simplicicaulis, with its gorgeous silvery pinnate leaves and large, feathery, pinky-amethyst, thistle-like flowers. Easy in any soil type and although it enjoys full sun it will tolerate part shade. Very drought tolerant and an excellent subject for the dry garden, rock garden or a container.
